Airmail flight cover for January 18-19, 1938 Navy Flight Maneuvers, San Diego to Pearl Harbor, accompanied by small information sheet (b); identified by donor with additional information "under Commander S.H. Warren, 18 Navy planes flew from San Diego to Pearl Harbor, crossing was made in record time of 20 hours and 30 minutes. No covers were known to exist from this flight until this cover was discovered about 10 years ago." a. envelope: square black cachet at left edge with map of flights; flight crew signatures at upper left; postmarked January 18, 1938 at San Diego Naval Air Station with football-shaped “2” cancellation markover orange 6-cent stamp; not addressed; backstamp: January 19, 1938 at Honolulu T.H.F.A.B. & ATCHO. b. information sheet: approx. 2.75 x 7.25 with black text; additional information prepared by donor.
