Airmail flight cover, Pan American Airways, third Pacific survey flight, San Francisco to Honolulu to Midway Island to Wake Island, August 13-19; identified by donor with additional information: "San Francisco, August 19; Honolulu to Midway, August 13; Midway to Wake, August 16-17. Signed by Capt. Sullivan. Capt. Musick was in Baltimore accepting delivery of the China Clipper" a. cover: blue cachet at bottom left corner on front with illustration of aircraft in flight over Pacific route map with signature of Capt. R.O.D. Sullivan and text, "First flight, Wake Island, Pan American Clipper"; two postmarks: August 18, 1935, Honolulu, Hawaii, and August 22 1935, Honolulu, Hawaii with “Oahu” football-shaped killers; two brown 6-cent postage stamps at upper right corner; pre-printed with three addresses, addressed to Mr. J.T. Trippe; also pre-printed with arrival and departure fields from and to Midway and Wake islands. b. information sheet: 8 1/2 x 11 with black text; additional information prepared by donor, including route information; flight cover was received mounted to sheet with photo corners.
