September 1940 issue of United Air Lines News; metallic gold cover with black and white photographic image depicting loading of airmail on Douglas DC-3, with printed caption at left, “Completion of Flight 47,844 at San Francisco on Twentieth Anniversary of the Main Liner Airway”; contains 3-page typed correspondence taped inside of front cover of issue, titled “United Air Lines Transport Corporation / San Francisco, California,” concerning stewardess application from R.V. Laustrup, Superintendent of Stewardess Service.
